Long before there was Kootenay Glass, there was a prairie boy named Rob Wudkevich.

These days, most people around Nelson simply know him as Woody.

With his unmistakable long, luscious locks, his big personality and an even bigger heart, Woody became a friendly giant to some and simply “The Glass Man” to others.

What started as travels west eventually became permanent, and in 1991 Kootenay Glass was born in Nelson, British Columbia.

More than three decades later, Woody has technically semi-retired.

Technically.

Today, the Kootenay Glass family is led by Dale Bonderud, supported by a great group of friendly, service-oriented technicians who take pride in doing quality work.

Take care of your neighbours. Do good work. Stand behind it.

  1. Local Since 1991

We’re not a national chain or a call centre somewhere else. Our shop is on Lakeside Drive, our people live here and the customers walking through our door are our neighbours.

  2. One Glass Shop. A Lot of Experience.

Cars, homes, businesses, heavy equipment, mirrors, showers, windows, doors and commercial construction: glass is what we do.

  3. We Actually Care

We know your vehicle matters to you. We know construction inside your home is disruptive. We know downtime costs businesses money.

Our job isn’t just to install glass. Our job is to make the whole experience easier.

  4. Backed When We Need It

We have the local service and accountability of Kootenay Glass combined with the additional resources of our sister companies when a larger or more specialized project requires them.
